IDEC SPORT delivered a standout performance during the Hyperpole for the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans. Thanks to an exceptional lap by Job van Uitert at the wheel of the No. 28 ORECA 07, the French team secured second place in the LMP2 class and a spot on the front row of the starting grid for the world’s most prestigious endurance race.

A Masterful Hyperpole for IDEC SPORT at Le Mans
The Hyperpole session for the 24 Hours of Le Mans lived up to all expectations with particularly fierce competition in the LMP2 class. In this ultra-competitive environment, IDEC SPORT demonstrated its full expertise by placing its ORECA 07 prototype among the class leaders.
This performance is the result of a collective effort carried out with precision since the start of the week in Le Mans. Right from qualifying, Paul Lafargue enabled the crew to position themselves among the contenders for the Hyperpole. Valerio Rinicella then confirmed the car’s potential by brilliantly qualifying the No. 28 for Hyperpole 2, reserved for the fastest competitors.

Job van Uitert posts a decisive lap in LMP2
During the final qualifying session, Job van Uitert took the wheel with the goal of placing IDEC SPORT at the front of the grid. In the final minutes of the Hyperpole, the Dutch driver set a benchmark lap that secured him second place in the LMP2 category.
This performance gives IDEC SPORT a strategic spot on the starting grid for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a significant advantage ahead of a race where traffic management, consistency, and reliability play a decisive role.
Facing one of the most competitive LMP2 grids in recent years, this result confirms the speed of the No. 28 ORECA 07 as well as the quality of the work carried out by all the team’s engineers, mechanics, and drivers.

Ambition remains intact ahead of the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans
While this second-place finish in Hyperpole is an excellent achievement, the main objective remains the race itself. In an event as demanding as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, pure performance is just one factor among many. Strategy, stint management, mechanical reliability, and the ability to avoid incidents will be essential to aiming for a top result.
The crew, consisting of Paul Lafargue, Job van Uitert, and Valerio Rinicella, will therefore approach the start with confidence, determination, and ambition.
This front-row start in LMP2 demonstrates that IDEC SPORT has everything it takes to be a top contender at the 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Statement from Job van Uitert
“The car performed very well, and the team has done a fantastic job since the start of the week. We knew the competition would be extremely strong, so securing this second-place finish is a great reward. It’s an excellent starting position, but the most important thing is the race itself. We’re ready for the challenge ahead.”
