THE FAMOUS PROJECT CIC MAKES HISTORY

Monday, January 26, 2026 – The eight sailors completed their non-stop, unassisted circumnavigation of the globe in 57 days, 21 hours, 20 minutes, and 00 seconds.

Aboard the maxi-trimaran IDEC SPORT, Alexia Barrier and her crew crossed the official finish line at Ushant at 12:00 p.m. sharp on Monday, January 26, 2026.

France’s Alexia Barrier, Britain’s Dee Caffari and Deborah Blair, the Netherlands’ Annemieke Bes, Switzerland and New Zealand’s Rebecca Gmuer, Spain’s Tamara “Xiquita” Echegoyen, the US’s Molly Lapointe, and Australia’s Stacey Jackson have achieved their goal: first attempt, first success.

  • November 17: start of standby
  • November 29: departure from Brest
  • December 8: crossing the equator
  • December 12: hook damage
  • December 16: passing Cape of Good Hope
  • December 24: crossing Cape Leeuwin
  • January 2: passing Point Nemo
  • January 6: passing Cape Horn
  • January 21: mainsail torn, sheltered at the latitude of the Azores
  • January 26: arrival in Brest
