The sailors of The Famous Project CIC aimed to make sporting history by becoming the first all-female crew to complete a non-stop round-the-world voyage. Alexia and her funny ladies triumphed over all the difficulties. Despite damage and storms, they held on until the end, demonstrating their resilience and incredible determination.
Yesterday, Monday, January 26, 2026, was a special day, one that will go down in history and leave lasting memories. Eight women, eight smiles, and eight faces shaped by the open sea offered a striking demonstration that dreams can come true.
France’s Alexia Barrier, Britain’s Dee Caffari and Deborah Blair, the Netherlands’ Annemieke Bes, Switzerland and New Zealand’s Rebecca Gmuer, Spain’s Tamara “Xiquita ” Echegoyen, American Molly Lapointe, and Australian Stacey Jackson made up the first all-female crew to complete a non-stop, non-stop circumnavigation of the globe aboard a multihull.
Right up until the end, they had to contend with unpredictable weather. Without a mainsail (torn by a storm last Wednesday) but with a big heart, they completed the loop after 57 days, 21 hours, and 20 minutes at sea.

Performance is not just a question of speed, but of the ability to stay on course despite changes and challenges. Mastering such a boat is no easy feat. The miles accumulated and the difficulties encountered have forged a valuable experience. Where many would have given up along the way, the eight sailors chose to continue, no matter what.
