Sunday, January 18, 2026 – Staying focused
This morning, Alexia Barrier’s crew has fewer and fewer miles to go. That’s no small feat. But it’s no longer abstract either.

As the captain of the maxi trimaran IDEC SPORT says, “We continue to sail well, taking care of the boat and each other. This team is united to the end. Whatever the final score, it’s already a victory. But be careful, the last few days at sea are always the most delicate. Not because of the weather, but because of the desire to arrive. That gentle, slightly dangerous impatience that creeps in when you start to imagine yourself back on land. Often, 24 hours before the finish, you realize that it’s almost over… and, paradoxically, you want it to never end. So we savor every moment. The squalls. The calms. The improvised repairs. The laughter. We move forward. Together.

To those of you reading this on land—but also to our partners’ employees, our silent but essential crew members—every mile we’ve traveled is fueled by your energy. Since the day we set sail, you’ve been there, invisible but solid. We’re moving forward for ourselves, of course… but also for you. Thank you for being on board.

An opportunity to relive the penultimate week of the eight sailors from The Famous Project CIC aboard the maxi-trimaran IDEC SPORT (departure from the Southern Hemisphere, crossing the Equator, repairs).
