KEVIN MENDY, MICKAEL VAR AND RUDDY NELHOMME EXTEND THEIR CONTRACTS, WHILE JIM AND CLÉMENT TURN PROFESSIONAL

A press conference was held to day marking the end of the season. It was a moment to look back at the season and the qualifiers in the play-offs. But there were also announcements about new signings and contracts being extended next season.

KÉVIN MENDY CONTINUES WITH THE TEAM

Kévin Mendy is staying with the club and is now a key member. After joining this year, the winger has left his mark on the club in terms of his sporting ability, but also his human contact. His unbounded commitment on the court has brought a lot to the club.

Ruddy Nelhomme: “I wanted to build up the team around Kevin Mendy and Mickael Var, as they are important players.”

MICKAEL VAR SIGNS UP FOR TWO YEARS

On loan from Nancy this season, Mickael Var has been a key player during the second part of the season.

Mickael Var: “I’m really pleased to have signed up again for Poitiers. Why Poitiers? We both wanted that and I hope it will work out.”

JIM SEYMOUR AND CLÉMENT DESMONTS TURN PROFESSIONAL

There is some very good news for the two youngsters, Jim Seymour and Clément Desmonts, who have just signed their first professional contract. They joined the club 5 and 8 years ago respectively and this rewards their hard work. They can join the pro team next season and continue to develop with the youth team, which is now in National 2.

Andy Thornton-Jones, head of the training centre: “This marks a certain continuity for the club. Training is part of the club’s DNA. After Kevin Harley and Arnauld Thinon, the club continues to show its confidence in the youngsters.”

RUDDY NELHOMME EXTENDS HIS CONTRACT FOR AT LEAST A YEAR

Ruddy will remain at the head of the pro team next season alo,ng with his assistants, Antoine Brault and Andy Thornton-Jones.

Louis Bordonneau: “Ruddy has the skills and know-how to develop the club […] He was a founder and helped PB86 develop and is part of the spirit of the club. The board, directors and I need that.”
