During the match on Saturday 23rd November between Blois and Poitiers, PB will celebrate the career of Sylvain Maynier, an emblematic player with the club, whose jersey is being retired.
Born in Poitiers, he trained at the CEP, and went through top class competitions with Vichy, St-Etienne and Nanterre. He returned to Poitiers in 2005 to become involved in the organisation of his favourite club and left his mark on the PB86.
French N1 champion in 2006, French Pro B champion in 2009, he took the club to the elite of French basketball taking part in the play-offs for Pro A in 2010.
He remains in Poitiers and is currently working to develop basketball and in particular 3×3, positioning Poitiers as a stronghold of the Olympic sport.
