IDEC SPORT kicks off its 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans week with the traditional weigh-in and technical inspections. The first chapter of an endurance adventure filled with tension, precision, and excitement.

Le Mans rarely begins with a bang.
It begins elsewhere. In the streets of downtown. In the focused gazes. In the last documents signed in a hurry. In the car bodies inspected down to the millimeter under the spotlights of the weigh-in.
This Friday, IDEC SPORT officially kicked off Chapter 10 of the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans with the traditional technical and administrative scrutineering. Before practice. Before the stints. Before nightfall. There is that suspended moment when endurance racing is already taking shape.

The first ritual of the 24 Hours of Le Mans
Every year, the weigh-in marks the true start of Le Mans week. For the teams competing in the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, this event is not just an administrative formality. It is the first mandatory step before the race.
Car, equipment, technical compliance, safety: everything is checked down to the smallest detail. But behind the procedures, there is above all a special atmosphere. A gentle tension. A gradual build-up to something bigger. Le Mans always begins before the track.

A journey in the making
At IDEC SPORT, this week inevitably holds a special significance. Because endurance racing shares a lot in common with ocean racing. Just like before a major transatlantic crossing, you have to:
- prepare the equipment,
- anticipate the unexpected,
- manage fatigue,
- develop a strategy,
- trust the team.
In the pits, just like on a boat, nothing is left to chance. The teams are already in race mode. The mechanics are fine-tuning the final details. The engineers are validating the procedures. The drivers are starting to get into their zone. Le Mans is like a rising tide: the pressure builds gradually, right up to the start.

A profoundly human adventure
Beyond the performance, the 24 Hours of Le Mans remains an extraordinary human adventure. For an entire week, the teams live almost in a bubble. The days grow longer. The nights grow shorter. Reference points shift. Teamwork becomes essential.
This is exactly what IDEC SPORT aims to capture with this daily log: the behind-the-scenes action, the emotions, the unseen details-everything that makes up a 24-hour race. Not just the lap times. But everything it takes to keep going.
Enter Chapter 10
This 2026 edition marks a new chapter in IDEC SPORT’s history in Le Mans. A chapter built on endurance, precision, and resilience. Just like at sea, you’ll need to: hold on, adapt, move forward. The journey begins now.
To be continued sunday, june 7, from 10:00
