IDEC SPORT HAS ANNOUNCED ITS PROGRAMME FOR THE 2020 SEASON

After winning the European Championship title in 2019, the IDEC SPORT team intends to defend its crown this season. The European Le Mans Series is therefore part of the programme, in LMP2, but also in LMP3. There will also be a few races in GT3 on the calendar.

If they talked for a while about the WEC, it is in the European Le Mans Series that IDEC SPORT will be racing with the Oreca 07. Paul Lafargue and Paul-Loup Chatin will want to defend their title of European champions from 2019. They will no longer be supported by Memo Rojas, who has moved to DragonSpeed, but by the British driver, Richard Bradley. He knows the LMP2 circuit well, as he won the Le Mans 24-Hour Race in 2015. he also knows about the ELMS after driving for Graff in 2017 and last season for Duqueine Engineering.

“I am pleased to be joining IDEC SPORT for 2020. I already know lots of people in the team and I’m certain we’ll have a great season. Looking at te level of performance they showed over the past few years, leading up to the title, I can’t wait to get out there behind the wheel. I hope to offer tem my experience and we’ll be trying to get their first win in the Le Mans Race and my second,” explained Richard Bradley.

The Oreca will be the only LMP2 lining up this season in the colours of IDEC SPORT. The Ligier has been sold and they have got another … Ligier. A brand new JS P320 will be joining the ranks of the red and white cars. This LMP3 will be driven by Patrice Lafargue and William Cavailhes. Te name of the third driver has not yet been announced.

“The LMP2s are very fast and it is not always easy for gentlemen drivers. I think that racing in LMP3 will suit us. I enjoyed doing the Road to Le Mans in this car. They are good performers out on the track and you can still really enjoy it all. It is important to enjoy being behind the wheel,” added Patrice Lafargue.

Alongside the ELMS, IDEC SPORT is due to race in some events in the 24H Series with the Mercedes AMG GT3. It is not possible to think about competing for the whole season, because there are too many events and dates coincide.
