2019 Le Mans 24H Race: IDEC SPORT at the weigh-in on Sunday

The magic of the week of racing begins this weekend in Le Mans with the weigh-in. the cars are given a thorough technical check in the centre of Le Mans with the crowds turning up. 

The IDEC SPORT Oreca will be checked over on Sunday. What exactly is the weigh in? It has now become one of the big moments to attend before the 24 hour race in Le Mans. The 62 cars competing in the 87th edition of the Le Mans 24-Hour Race will be inspected to ensure they fit in with the rules and can take part. To share this moment with the crowds, the cars leave the track area. The technical checks are carried out in the place de la République in the city centre in Le Mans. The public can line up along the route and get close to the cars as they drive at very slow speed. Some of the LMP1, LMP2, GTE Pro and GTE Am cars are invited to turn up on Sunday 9th between 2 and 7 p.m.

The Toyotas, the overall favourites are due to be inspected in the middle of the afternoon, but the best is yet to come! IDEC SPORT will be the final car to be inspected on Sunday. #48 is expected at 5.20. Each check lasts around half an hour.

Because there are s many cars competing, the checks are spread over two days. It starts again on Monday from 10 until 6 p.m. Once these checks are complete, the winners of the 2018 Le Mans 24-Hour Race will be present in the Place St Nicolas to leave their handprints. The Toyota crew made up of Kazuki Nakajima, Sébastien Buemi and Fernando Alonso will be the stars.
