THE SECOND LEG GOES TO CHARNAY

After winning against the newly promoted team (89-88) a fortnight ago, Charnay had the final say on Wednesday at Prissé winning 76 to 74. The Lionesses nevertheless took advantage of this training match to continue to progress individually and as a team with in particular, the young lionesses from the Training Centre. The Pro squad was strengthened with the presence of four young players to cover for the absence of Clarissa DOS SANTOS (with Brazil to prepare for the AmeriCup – Porto Rico), Michelle PLOUFFE (Canada), Marine JOHANNES (rest after the WNBA), Alysha CLARK (rest after the WNBA), and Julie ALLEMAND (given some rest on Wednesday).

THE BIG MOMENT – With seventeen leader changes, the duel between Charnay and Lyonwas uncertain until the final moments. The biggest lead for CBBS of 71- 64 was in the final quarter. The Lionesses brought the score back to 71-71, but the local team grabbed a symbolic win in the final moment.

THE LIONESS  – For her second match with the Lionesses after a long absence last season (knee injury), Lidija TURCINOVIC did particularly well at Prissé scoring 23 points, 3 rebounds, 4 decisive passes, 4 interceptions, and a score 28 for efficiency.

STATISTICS  – The Lionesses had 40 % success in shots from behind the semi-circle (9/22). The nine three point scores came from Marième BADIANE (3/5) and Lidija TURCINOVIC (5/8).

WHAT NEXT  – The Lionesses will be going to Saint-Julien-les-Villas (Troyes) thiis week-end for the Just One Life Procup pre-Open. To start the tournament, they will be up against Villeneuve d’Ascq at 8 on Saturday.
