POSTCARD FROM THE SOUTHERN OCEAN

Francis Joyon 1000 miles from Mauritius

Francis Joyon is continuing to speed along at more than 25 knots at 35° S and is still being propelled eastwards by the low-pressure system that has been with him since the coast of Brazil. IDEC SPORT is this evening (Tuesday) at the longitude of Madagascar and still heading due east before starting the climb northwards and heading for Mauritius and the finishing line of the Mauritius Route record. The skipper of IDEC SPORT is currently 1500 miles ahead of the pace set during the reference time.

Postcard from the Southern Ocean
This morning, Francis posted a short video sent back from the Indian Ocean. The sailing conditions are fine, with a lot of light and long waves. Francis Joyon is beginning to plan the final stretch towards in Port Louis where he is expected late this week.
