LE MANS 24 HR RACE: PAUL-LOUP CHATIN WITH IDEC SPORT FOR THE TEST DAY

The Le Mans 24-Hour Race will take place on 17th-18th June, but the entrants will be preparing this week with the official checks and the first drive on Sunday 4th June. For this event, IDEC Sport will be taking advantage of some help from French driver Paul-Loup Chatin, 2014 ELMS champion.

While the general public will be focusing 24-Hour race itself, keen followers know that the festivities will begin in Le Mans earlier than that spread out over two weeks. The 60 cars competing will be lining up on Sunday for the test day. As for the official competition, the drivers will drive around the 13.629 km circuit to carry out administrative and technical checks before going all out.

This day scheduled by the ACO for all the teams allows them t(o drive around the circuit in Le Mans before the big event. Paul-Loup Chatin has joined the IDEC Sport team with the Ligier JS P217 – Gibson n°17 belonging to the Idec Sport Racing team. The 2014 ELMS champion will be helping Patrice Lafargue, Paul Lafargue and David Zollinger during the test day thanks to his experience in the LMP2 category.

“I’m pleased to be back in the 24-Hour circuit with the IDEC Sport team, which is very professional,” declared Paul-Loup Chatin, who won’t be with Patrice Lafargue’s team for the 85th edition of the legendary endurance race. “We’ll be running through all the adjustments during the test day, so that Patrice, Paul and David will be at ease in the race and get the most out of the Ligier.”

The 180 drivers will take advantage of two drives from 9 to 1 and from 2 to 6 to get used to the special track at Le Mans for the 24-Hour race.
