ELMS: AN ENRICHING WEEKEND

The result could have been different from the tenth place they achieved at the Monza 4-Hour Race, if Idec Sport had not encountered a few technical problems. The team is now focusing on their major goal, Le Mans.

It could have been one of the finest weekends of the 2017 season, but IDEC SPORT encountered a few mechanical problems with the Ligier JS P217 #28, which prevented Patrice Lafargue, Paul Lafargue and Olivier Pla from seeing their dreams of a better time come true.

After a few difficulties on Saturday, IDEC SPORT only made it to tenth place in the qualifier. The engine of the IDEC Sport was removed and changed before the race.

The car raced well and Paul Lafargue had a very good beginning with the #28 even making it to fifth place. But by the end of the Monza 4-Hour race, the IDEC SPORT trio had to make do with tenth place at the finish.

The team nevertheless gained a lot of experience with drivers and mechanics finding out more about the JS P217, before the big event of the year, the Le Mans 24-Hour race on 17th and 18th June.

Le Mans is always considered to be a very special event, because of its length, history, prestige and extraordinary track. The festivities begin in Le Mans on 4th June with the test day before continuing on 11th and 12th with the weigh in and the 16th the drivers’ parade.
