The last time the European Le Mans Series took place at Silverstone was just over six years ago. 2025 marks the return to this track, which is perfect for LMP2 cars. The venue for the fifth round, Paul Lafargue and Paul-Loup Chatin, winners in 2019, are eager to return with their teammate Job Van Uitert in their #28 Oreca. Jamie Chadwick, the local driver, will be keen to fly the flag for IDEC SPORT and Genesis Magma Racing in the #18 car, alongside Mathys Jaubert and Dani Juncadella.
With its 18 corners and legendary 770m straight, this highly technical circuit demands constant vigilance. When Silverstone is mentioned to the drivers, there is no shortage of praise. They all agree that this track is made for drivers and cars, in this case LMP2s. They all seem to thrill at Copse, the sequence of Maggots, Becketts and Chapel, not to mention Stowe, where the entry speed is insane.
Nicolas Minassian, Team Principal
“We’re back at Silverstone, a fast, technical, and historic circuit where the weather often plays an important role! England is a country of motorsport enthusiasts, so I think the crowds will be out in force. Our six drivers know the circuit, Jamie will be at home, and we’ve already raced there successfully. It will be an attacking weekend for both cars. Of course, the championship points count, but our goals are clearly to get results in every race. We’re not counting the points for the championship, but to get results race after race. It’s up to us to create our own luck.”

Paul Lafargue, driver of the #28 alongside Paul-Loup Chatin & Job Van Uitert
“Returning to this circuit, the historic birthplace of motor racing, where the sequence of corners and aerodynamic downforce are incredible, is a real joy. It also holds fond memories for the IDEC SPORT team, as we won the race in 2019 and the ELMS championship in the same year. So there are a lot of emotions involved. As for the results, if we look solely at the overall points, it’s obviously very frustrating because the performance is there. When the race doesn’t go against us, we’re always in a position to do well, as evidenced by our fourth place at SPA three weeks ago.“

Jamie Chadwick, #18 driver with Mathys Jaubert & Dani Juncadella
“As a British driver, racing at Silverstone is the ultimate for me. It’s one of the best circuits we race on. I think it’s going to be great in LMP2 and I hope the weather will be kind. I really like Brooklands and Luffield, just before the start/finish line. I think the traffic might be a little easier because the track is obviously wider, but also much faster, so the approach speeds will be higher with the GTs. Obviously, getting on the podium at home would be fantastic. We know that if we have a flawless weekend, that’s where we should be, and I can’t wait to experience it.“

September 13 and 14 promise to be spectacular events on this historic circuit, which has undergone numerous changes-eleven in total since 1948.
