They had been talking about it and now it has happened. The club has decided to encourage its youngsters and give them their chance, if they have performed well. Six of our French Pro D2 champions have extended their contracts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cLast season our idea was to trust promising youngsters,\u201d explained Philippe Tayeb. \u201cIt turned out that Yannick Bru\u2019s idea was the right way to go. These new contracts confirm that commitment in the top14.\u201d<\/p>\n

Manuel Ordas, on the way up<\/h3>\n

The young fly half has been involved more and more often in the team and became a regular in the final phases. A promising talent whose progression means that he has signed on again until 2022 with the sky blue and whites.<\/p>\n

Ugo Boniface, the quiet strong man<\/h3>\n

U20 world champion in 2018, Ugo grabbed every opportunity he was given on the pitch to prove his talent. He took part in 22 matches with an important role to play in the semis and in the final. So logically, he will be in the TOP14 with his club until 2022.<\/p>\n

Baptiste Heguy, thoughtful<\/h3>\n

At the same time as carrying out his studies, the flanker also proved himself to be a key figure in the pro squad. As proof of that, Midi Olympique named him Oscar Midi Olympique in January. Often compared to his elder Antoine Battut, he will have the opportunity to shine again for another season alongside him. Sticking with Bayonne, he has signed up until 2023.<\/p>\n

Arthur Duhau, a regular scorer<\/h3>\n

Early last season, he suffered from injuries, but the Bayonne winger finished the season in the best of shape. He scored six tries in just twelve games, or a try in every other game. In the final phase his no nonsense approach was crucial. He will be with Bayonne until 2022.<\/p>\n

Aymeric Luc, a good choice<\/h3>\n

He appeared for the first time on the 17th<\/sup> day of the season and played for eight minutes. After that he was a regular and often named in the team by the end of the season. The young full back scored three tries including one against Brive which everyone admired. He will discover the TOP14 with the club he has played for since 2009 and with whom he has signed up until 2022.<\/p>\n

Yan Lestrade, not really a surprise\u2026<\/h3>\n

As Yannick Bru said early last season: \u201cHe dominates with the youngsters every weekend and often shines when he joins us for training. If he works hard, although nothing is yet certain, he will join the world of pro rugby.\u201d Yan Lestrade has now signed with Aviron Bayonnais until 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
