IDEC SPORT obtained the best time in LMP2 in the trials in spite of some complicated conditions.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

In spite of the tricky weather and mechanical incidents, Paul-Loup Chatin managed to complete the 13.6 km circuit in Le Mans in 3\u201928\u2019\u2019363. This time placed the Oreca #48 at the top of the LMP2 cars.<\/p>\n

The drivers and engineers had a debriefing after these valuable miles and were satisfied with the performance of the car. The first qualifying session will be between 10 and midnight. Things start to get serious this evening, as each time will count. Two further sessions lasting two hours will take place on Thursday. The best time during the three qualifiers will be awarded pole position. While overall pole position is considered as pole position for the Le Mans 24-Hour Race, it will be in LMP2 and in GT that it will be most exciting.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were lots of ups and downs in this session. We dealt with a small technical problem and we had to deal with some variable weather. We needed to find the right tyres at the right moment. That meant going through rain tyres, intermediate tyres and dry ones. When there is an opportunity to grab a good time, we go for it. We more or less had a clear lap<\/em>,\u201d explained Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Ducastel, Head of the Team. \u201cWe still have a few details to sort out, but nothing major. The car is up there, so we\u2019re not going to change anything. It looks like the weather will improve tomorrow and if it doesn\u2019t rain this evening, all of the teams will be attempting to get good times without holding back.
