Paul-Loup Chatin got the Oreca #28 into third place, while Erik Maris brought up the rear in the LMP2 rankings with the Ligier #27.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After the sunshine, it became dull and overcast in Monza. When the lights went green in the pits; the 19 LMP2 cars set off for a ten minute qualifier. From the start of the session, IDEC SPORT was out in front. But covering the lap in 1\u201935\u2019\u2019214 was not enough, as to get pole position it was necessary to get 1\u201934\u2019\u2019967. G-drive got second place just 0.001 second ahead.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we should have fought harder to get pole position after what we did in the trials. Once again we were up with the frontrunners after being out in front on the Paul Ricard circuit, we were third here. We perform well. I mad a mistake in a fast lap where we could have taken second place. It was a bit complicated driving the car. She was efficient, but it was bumpy. We tried to find the right setting before the race. We\u2019re ready for tomorrow,\u201d explained Paul-Loup Chatin just after the drive.<\/p>\n

Erik Maris took nineteenth place at the rear of the LMP2 rankings.<\/p>\n

Hardly a minute after the chequered flag, it started to rain at the autodromo Nazionale di Monza, but the sun is expected to return tomorrow.<\/p>\n
