After a fortnight of festivities in Le Mans, the big moment has arrived. At exactly 3 p.m., Paul-Loup Chatin set off in pole position in the\u00a0 LMP2s on the Oreca #48 IDEC Sport and in tenth place overall.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The cars lined up two by two, with the tyres warmed up over the 13.626 kilometre track in Le Mans and with the brakes at the right temperature, Paul-Loup Chatin was fully focused at the wheel of the Oreca #48 IDEC Sport. The engineers left him settle in alongside CEFC TRSM Racing\u2019s Ginetta LMP1 on the fifth line of the grid for the start (a tradition dating back to 1970).<\/p>\n

The fans stood up in the stands at 3 o\u2019clock. The leaders put their feet down on the accelerator and soon all 60 cars were off in this 86th edition of the Le Mans 24-Hour Race with the engines roaring across the start line of the legendary race track and they would soon find themselves at the Dunlop bends. Paul-Loup Chatin got off to a comfortable start just behind the pack of LMP1s.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re off for 24 hours of racing. A huge challenge for\u00a0 IDEC Sport, as Patrice Lafargue\u2019s team wants to shine in their Oreca #48 on their second attempt, especially after getting pole position in the LMP2s, up with the world\u2019s leading teams. They can hope for the podium, but as Memo Rojas said the race will decide who wins. This is one of the most difficult races in the world for the cars and drivers. There is no room for any mistake. The IDEC Sport drivers will be attempting to look after their car, while getting a good result in the rankings.<\/p>\n
