This time, it was the Porsche #75, which was forced to retire with mechanical problems.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Spain lived up to its reputation with brilliant sunshine for the IDEC SPORT in the North of the country for their first edition of the Navarra 12-Hour Race. It was also the first time this season that IDEC SPORT drove on a completely dry track. Patrice Lafargue, Paul Lafargue and Dimitri Enjalbert were defending the colours of IDEC SPORT at the wheel of the Mercedes AMG GT3 in the A6-Pro category, the star class in the 24- Hour Series, up against twenty other competitors. Romain Vozniak and David Abramczyk drove the Porsche 991.<\/p>\n<p>The mechanics did a lot of work on the Mercedes AMG GT3 after she came off the track at Silverstone. She is clearly now on form as were her drivers. Dimitri Enjalbert took second place in the A6-Pro category. Romain Vozniak qualified with #75 at the front in the 991 Cup category.<\/p>\n<p>It was a complicated start for Paul Lafargue, slowed by tyre problems. \u201c<em>The start didn\u2019t go that badly. It\u2019s easier when you are out in front and I managed to look after the car, but the tyres didn\u2019t do well and it was impossible to keep up a fast enough pace to stay with the frontrunners. The other competitors grabbed that opportunity to overtake me one by one. Fortunately things were sorted out when I returned to the pit to set off with new tyres,\u201d <\/em><em>explained<\/em> Paul Lafargue, who had a very good weekend. The Mercedes #17 clawed her way back throughout the race to be in the top 5, confirming her real potential and explaining why she is doing so well in the A6-Pro category. Patrice, Paul and Dimitrihad a great performance on the 3.933 km track in Navarra, crossing the finishing line in third place in A6-Pro and sixth overall.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are pleased with this result. We scored the points we deserved, which means we are still in with a chance of the title<\/em><em>. <\/em><em>But I\u2019m pleased to offer this podium place to the whole team, who did a remarkable job on the car before and during the race,\u201d <\/em><em>confirmed<\/em> Paul Lafargue.<\/p>\n<p>The Porche #75 was forced to retire due to mechanical problems. David Abramczyk and Romain Vozniak did however make a lot of progress and took advantage of the fact that there were just two of them to gain some more experience. The Porsche is still out in front in her category at the top of the championship rankings. They are going to have to get a good result at the third meeting of the 2018 24-Hour Series at Imola on 25<sup>th<\/sup>-26<sup>th<\/sup> May to stay at the top.<\/p>\n<p>IDEC SPORT\u2019s next race will be in the European Le Mans Series at the Monza 4-Hour Race (13<sup>th<\/sup> May)\u00a0 with the Oreca 07 and the Ligier JSP217.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The IDEC SPORT Mercedes made it into third place in the A6-pro category at the Navarra 12-Hour Race, rewarding them after the problems they encountered at Silverstone.
