The IDEC SPORT team will be taking part in the European Le Mans Series with two P2 prototypes during the 2018 season. The Ligier JSP2017, which raced throughout last season, will be back and this time will be joined by a new car, which has come straight from Oreca.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>The 2018 season is a major step forward for the whole of the IDEC SPORT team. Two cars will now be competing in the highly competitive ELMS championship. The new LMP2 has just come from the Oreca workshops and wil be joining the Ligier in the coming days. This choice which may be seen as complementary is above all down to a partnership between Rebellion and IDEC SPORT.<\/p>\n

The Ligier LMP2 will be in the hands of Patrice Lafargue and two other drivers, whose names will be announced at a later date with the aim of winning the new category for Bronze drivers and pulling off some surprises as often happens in endurance racing.<\/p>\n

The third driver announced for the Oreca
\n<\/strong>Paul Lafargue and Paul-Loup Chatin were already expected to be in the driving seat in the LMP2. They will be joined by a fast driver with a lot of experience and who knows all about the Oreca car, as he won the 2017 ELMS championship with one: Guillermo \u201cMemo\u201d Rojas.<\/p>\n

The Mexican driver is already well known by car racing fans, as he has achieved a lot of successes: winning the Rolex Sport Cars Series championship many times, twice winner of the Daytona 24-Hour Race, he has competed in the Race of Champions and more recently in the 2017 ELMS where he became champion. Memo is bringing along his knowledge of the Oreca car and will make it easier for the engineers and his fellow team members throughout the season.<\/p>\n

These three will be aiming to be up with the frontrunners at the top of the overall rankings once the season opens on the Castellet circuit on 15th<\/sup> April.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
