IDEC SPORT confirmed its strong performance in Barcelona with a solid showing in free practice and a qualifying session that saw the team secure 4th and 7th places. The French team heads into the race with a solid strategic foundation despite stiff competition.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Constructive Free Practice Sessions<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the two free practice sessions at the Barcelona circuit, IDEC SPORT demonstrated an encouraging level of competitiveness. The main objective was clear: to gauge their standing against the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During these collective test days, every detail counts. IDEC SPORT had 1.5 hours of track time per day, precious time to fine-tune the setups and gauge their position against the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Methodical work on both cars<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

IDEC SPORT adopts a structured approach by utilizing both of its prototypes to research, experiment with, and validate setups. This strategy allows for effective cross-referencing of data and finding the setups best suited to each crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A comprehensive effort carried out with the drivers that allows them to tackle the rest of the weekend Qualifying simulation with new tires, long runs and tire degradation management, fuel consumption studies and technical adjustments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These free practice sessions thus laid a solid foundation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An overall satisfactory qualifying session<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of qualifying, IDEC SPORT placed its two cars in 4th and 7th positions on the starting grid. An overall satisfactory result, even if the initial goal was to place both cars in the top 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe finished fourth and seventh. […] I would have liked to have both in the top 5. That\u2019s the nature of qualifying. We were just missing that little something<\/em>,\u201d says Nicolas Minassian, the team principal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
