The final round of the European Le Mans Series took place on Saturday in Portimao (Portugal). Second in the championship before this final round of the season, IDEC SPORT finished third in the race with the #18 Oreca and fourth with the #28. And third in the championship. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

IDEC Sport’s chance to clinch its second European title in its 10th year was dashed by two untouchable competitors. Nevertheless, the team is proud of its achievements this year: three victories and a podium finish for the LMP2 in the colors of IDEC SPORT \/ Genesis Magma Racing, and a strong comeback for the team led by Paul Lafargue, Paul-Loup Chatin, and Job Van Uitert with three fourth-place finishes at the end of the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are competitors. We fight for victory in every race. In the heat of the moment, there is inevitably a little frustration<\/em>,\u201d admits Nicolas Minassian. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“But now, looking back, we had set ourselves a target of finishing in the top five and we finished third. And that suits us fine. We obviously congratulate VDS Panis Racing on their victory on this difficult circuit and their title, as well as Inter Europol Competition on their second place. We tried everything we could to beat them today, but they were stronger and we have to accept that. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crew of the #28 car had another solid race. They stayed focused and never gave up. The three drivers worked tirelessly with the mechanics and engineers, which ultimately paid off. The French-Dutch trio has now achieved three fourth places in a row.  And as a team, both cars are regularly in the top five. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have always been competitive, systematically seeking to optimize everything we could. Every detail counts, especially in this particularly competitive championship.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
