Paul-Loup Chatin (#28) was behind the wheel for the 15-minute LMP2 session, while the young Mathys Jaubert took charge of the #18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since IDEC SPORT is located at the end of the pit lane, the engineers decided to wait for the other competitors to go out before releasing their two cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Running in second place for a long time, Mathys Jaubert eventually slipped to fourth \u2014 a result that satisfies the 20-year-old rookie : <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mathys Jaubert, IDEC SPORT driver #18 :<\/strong><br>\u201cFourth place. I\u2019m happy with this result. It puts us on the second row for the start, which is great. This is a tricky circuit with three very different sectors. The car is really well set up and I\u2019ve got a good feeling. Jamie (Chadwick) will start, Dani (Juncadella) will take the second stint and I\u2019ll finish, just like in Barcelona. We worked hard on race pace during practice. We might get a bit of rain tomorrow but either way, it\u2019s going to be an exciting race.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Paul-Loup Chatin, driver #28 :<\/strong><br>\u201cI think seventh on the grid doesn\u2019t reflect our potential. There was room to push a bit more on the clock but I\u2019m not worried about tomorrow. We\u2019re in the game and the race is long. Paul knows how to handle traffic at the start and I know Job is very fast here. I\u2019ll take over in the middle stint and try to give him the car in the best position possible. In any case, the team has done a fantastic job preparing the car. We\u2019ll give it everything tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nicolas Minassian, IDEC SPORT Team Principal:<\/strong><br>\u201cWe can be satisfied with this qualifying session. The drivers gave good feedback on the cars. We\u2019re starting fourth and seventh \u2014 of course, we always want more but we\u2019re close to the fastest times. This is an extremely competitive championship. Everything comes down to small details. Maybe today we didn\u2019t extract the maximum performance from the car, but we weren\u2019t far off. The most important thing is to have a well-balanced car that suits all the drivers for the race. And that\u2019s exactly what we have.
